Our group is involved in the structural and functional characterization of important proteins from pathogens and industrially important organisms using biophysical, biochemical and in silico approaches. Structural and functional characterization of these proteins is being carried out using protein engineering, X-ray crystallography, biophysical techniques, enzyme functional assays and bioinformatic tools. Some of the projects ongoing in the lab are
- Structural and functional characterization of metabolic pathway proteins and adhesins from Leishmania donovani
- Characterization of plant and microbial lectins
- Characterization of stress proteins from Lactobacillus sp.
- Understanding the molecular mechanisms of translational fidelity through characterization of tRNA synthetases and tRNA-misacylation editing proteins.
